Maxwell is really organized and great with kids! He came to our hotel to play with our kids for hours and help them sleep while we visited Charlottesville. He did a thorough online pre-meeting and has documentation and surveys and stuff. He brought some toys with him for my kids and even asked ahead of time what theme of temporary tattoos they would prefer. Very reliable.
Max was great with our kids. He can prepared with a copy of his ID and background information and a list of activities he would love to do with the kids. When requested he played our old piano beautifully and my daughter was so impressed. He has kept up to date with us even a couple years later and sends the kids birthday cards.
My kids loved their time spent with Maxwell! My partner and I felt extremely comfortable and confident in Maxwell's care. He has excellent communication skills and really went above and beyond to ensure my kids had a great day. 10/10 would recommend again.
Maxwell set a new all-time high standard for hiring anyone to watch my kids. He was proactive in asking about them, their routine and our family with an online form, he was on time, prepared and absolutely delightful. My kids loved spending time with him! He even cracked the code for getting our toddler to sleep without multiple wakings. Highly recommend! Will hire again, I hope!!
Maxwell is awesome with my 5&6 year old! He keeps them busy and engaged with fun games (he has many that he just pulls out of the trunk of his car - fun Frisbee, board games, etc). He is very understanding and patient with my super emotional children. He seems to be able to preemptively get in front of meltdowns that I can't seem to do as a parent. Overall they have a ton of fun when he's around and they are happy at the end of the day! We would definitely hire Maxwell again.
Maxwell takes his responsibilities caring for children very seriously. He is invested and reliable. He is interested in the children's needs, and gave a thorough report on the activities and going-on while he was babysitting. He came prepared with activities, and was very trustworthy. He has a great communication style with parents.
We hired Maxwell to watch a 6 yr old girl for several days after school. He was always punctual, prepared with fun activities and crafts, and showed a true interest in her and her preferences. I'm not sure we've ever had a more caring or professional sitter. I would use him again in a heart beat-and my kid loved playing with him as well.
Maxwell has been such an engaged and caring person with our children, especially our youngest two (ages 9 and 10). Our family lives in a residence hall, where Maxwell is a student. Whenever he's with them he always listens closely and follows their interests. And when our children attend events in the building, Maxwell always helps them to feel comfortable. He's flexible and always positive. I especially appreciate how he's worked with our son to make stop-motion videos, and present their work to our whole community! Really, he's become a great family friend - and we're so grateful to have him in the residence hall with us!
Maxwell is amazing. He is patient and kind and firm. He listened to our kiddos - what they liked and didn't - and was wiling to engage and explore their interests. And he did it with the utmost patience and care. He's always proposing new ideas for engaging our kids. He's flexible and punctual and very thoughtful.
Maxwell is thoughtful, caring, and creative. I have 3 children ages 9-11, and 2 have special needs. Maxwell arrived with things to do and took time to get to know each child's interests. He was on time or early. My kids often requested that my husband and I leave so that Maxwell can come over to babysit. I would highly recommend Maxwell.
Maxwell is a genuinely kind, caring, respectful and gentle person. He understands how to listen to kids and help them feel heard. I was very impressed with his preparedness including first aid training, and a huge arsenal of activities to fall back on if boredom strikes. To Whom it may concern, I write this letter on behalf of Maxwell Mandell, our favorite childcare provider. We’ve known Maxwell for the past 4 years. He advertised his childcare services on our local neighborhood listserv and we reached out to get to know him. He was the most prepared sitter we have ever interviewed. Maxwell came to our home with a portfolio of his certifications (CPR, First-Aid and Childcare class), as well as a copy of his license. He had an extensive questionnaire ready to get to know our family dynamics and our children’s likes and dislikes. He was prompt, on-time and eager to get to know our family. For two years we had Maxwell over for occasional sitting. He was always engaged with our children in play and quickly became a favorite. We began to utilize him more and had him watch our children extensively over the summer. He devised a “summer camp” for them with options for exploratory learning and play. They made slime together, swam, played tennis, he taught my daughter photography, did stop-motion animation with my son, hiked and LOTS and LOTS of arts and crafts. He got my daughter a role in one of his high school video productions and she had the time of her life acting with his class! When Covid hit and we needed daily care, Maxwell graciously stepped in and cared for our kids, taking our daughter each day to her carpool drop-off for school and staying at our home while our son learned virtually. He was incredibly flexible when the schedules changed and school opened and closed based on area levels. He was a true life-saver for us this past year as we attempted to juggle work outside of the home with a student whose school was only open for virtual learning. Over the last 4 years, Maxwell has become more than merely a kid-sitter. He’s truly become a part of our family. Even as my children have begun to age out of needing his care, we’ll continue to stay in touch with him and are eager to see all he has to accomplish in his future. I highly recommend Maxwell! Maxwell was attentive to instructions and also looked out for my daughter who was helping out (she is 5 years younger than he is). Maxwell followed through with his assigned duties and performed them well. He also picked up on things that needed to be done and did them without being asked. He is a thoughtful and polite young man who takes a job seriously. I trusted him to not only do his work with very little supervision but also in supervising my daughter when she helped out.
